Qualities and Responsibilities of the new Rabbi
QUALITIES
The Rabbi should:
- Be an active, committed Zionist
- Be passionate about Zionism and be willing to publicly support (non-political) Zionist activities in New Zealand
- Be open minded and able to work with all different types of people across the wider Jewish community
RELATIONSHIP WITH THE ZIONIST FEDERATION
- Participate in and attend all major Zionist Federation Functions
- Be willing to act as an educator for Zionist Federation projects and events where requested and if available
- Support both of the community’s Jewish youth movements where requested
- Take an active leadership role in encouraging young people (and their parents) to participate in Zionist youth organisation activities
- Be prepared to work positively with the President, Shlichim and executive of the Zionist Federation to realise mutual goals and plan combined events
